About Us
Our story began in
2002 a group of explosives practitioners in Singapore discussed the needs
of explosives community in Singapore. What came out of that discussion was
a clear direction to have a society to help professional standing of those
who work with explosives.
In early 2003, the
UK Institute of Explosive Engineers (IExpE), a
professional body of the explosive community in UK and worldwide accepted
our proposal to set-up a Branch in Singapore. In Mar 2003, the Singapore
Registrar of Societies approved the formation of the “Institute of
Explosive Engineers (Singapore) IExpE SG is a
“Branch” of the UK IExpE. Our first management committee was
elected at the institute 1st Annual General Meeting held in
April 2003.
In 2017, the UK
Institute of Explosives Engineers defunct all its overseas branches. The
Institute AGM 2017 decided to have an independent professional body to
serve the explosives community in Singapore. The Institute of Explosive
Engineers, Singapore (IExESG) was born with a brand new Logo and Identity.
